When the Going Gets Tough

I am a junior in high school, so I’m at the point in life where every other second I am being asked, “Where do you want to go to college?” or “What do you want to do with your life?” All while dealing with everything surrounding the wonderful life of being a high school girl. I am not quite sure why we need to figure our lives out at 17 while dealing with the constant struggle high school is, but there’s not much I can do about that.

What I will say is that through the busyness of life, prayer becomes less thought about, when it should be the first resort. For a while, I thought prayer was pointless. If God wasn’t going to answer me, then why should I talk to Him in the first place? Except I was obviously way out of line.

God never leaves a prayer unanswered. I just refused to let His “No” and “Wait” be the final answer. So, when the going gets tough, pray. Pray for healing. Pray for the wisdom to understand what the Lord wants you to do. Pray for discernment about what the correct answer is. Pray for the strength to understand when your prayer isn’t getting answered the way you wanted.

You are loved beyond measure. God loves YOU so much so that He withholds what is not needed in your life, and allows what is necessary for growth. Just hold onto Him, and allow Him to carry you through. Isaiah 41:10 says this, “Do not fear, for I am with you.”
